Run by Nora

Nora's route passed through the RCoH service area.

Thank you Nora and all your supporters!

This was a truly unique and amazing fundraiser.

Meet Nora

I'm a runner, running coach, and owner of Team Bird Training. I have always been drawn to running. I played sports throughout high school that involved running, such as basketball, soccer, and track, but wasn’t really a runner. I have been running for the past 8 years and have made the leap into Ultra-running.

I grew up in Southwest WI right on the Wisconsin River in a very small town called Muscoda, graduating from Riverdale High School. Granddaughter of Mary Grimm, co-founder of Riverway Communities of Hope.

Nora ran nearly 175 miles!

Nora ran from Kenosha to nearly Dubuque staying on roads totaling almost 175 miles. She attempted this as a straight forward run, which means no lengthy stops. This was intended to be the first FKT (fastest known distance) for that direction (east to west) and that distance on that course. Her run was cut a little short because of an ice storm which made footing dangerous.

Why? (In Nora's own words...)

"This run has a two-fold purpose:

To set the FKT and to raise awareness and money for Riverway Communities of Hope. This charity is close to my heart and very personal. My grandmother is a co-founder, and my family has been directly and indirectly affected by the reasons needed for such a charity. I cannot think of a better way to bring awareness to the fact that services like these are indeed available and that there are people who are here to help. What better way than to run through the area that this organization helps."
